Jana Fox
Studied the restoration of paintings at the Art College V.A. Serov in St. Petersburg with an internship at the State Russian Museum, and art studies at the Estonian Art Academy in Tallinn. She works as an independent artist in Cologne. The experience she gained from restoring and reproducing the work of the old masters from the Eremitage and the Russian Museum greatly influence her painting. Very plastic, sculptured forms, the finest nuances, and harmonious colours are characteristic of her style.

My medium is painting that exists without words and does not require a tutorial or an explanation.
It is far from any semblance of the romantic of the daily banalities, private neuroses or illustrated concepts.
Neither do I wish to convey anything (applied arts), because it (art) is only human in the absolute denial of any form of statement....

We are two artists in Cologne working independently and very individually. With our classic academic education, we attach particular importance to the technically perfect execution of our paintings. The material value of a work of art is very important to us. As figurative artists, our ideas and work went unheeded in our new home country, until through the Internet we finally found access to the international art scene. In the meantime art lovers from all over the world appreciate and highly value our work. Now, we are finally in a position to develop our series of paintings further and to demonstrate our abilities world-wide.

Horses have also captured our hearts. A short foray into the world of horses has now turned into passion. After a commissioned work, we too became addicted to these noble animals. The horse, as an object of prestige and a projective symbol of desire and fantasy, continually inspires us to individual studies as well as complete compositions.
The horse has always remained an enigma to the human being. A mystery that artists have attempted to fathom for centuries in works of art. In our paintings we also attempt to capture the myth of the horse. |
